Annan Travel

From a standing start to one of Haven Holidays' top ten travel agents within one year. That's the amazing achievement of Helen Byers of Annan Travel. The CX Project helped Annan Travel celebrate it's first birthday as a top ten travel agent!

First anniversay for Annan Travel

Helen started up her travel agency in Annan High Street in September 2013 and talked through her plans with Beverley Bamford from the CX Project; following Bev's advice, Helen applied for and received a start up grant of 5000.

Helen says, "Bev was just brilliant and explained what I could claim. There is a long lead time in setting up an agency and bringing in customers, so the grant was essential. We are working as partners with Barrhead Travel and the help in putting our proposals to them was also much appreciated."

Councillor Colin Smyth is Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council's Economy, Environment and Infrastructure Committee. He said, "Annan Travel is a great example of how the CX Project can assist businesses in Annandale and Eskdale. Boosting our local economy is a top priority for our Council and Helen is helping enormously by employing local people."

John Grierson of Magnox Ltd, Site Director at Chapelcross, said, "I would urge Annandale and Eskdale businesses to contact the CX Project for advice and assistance. Helen now employs 5 people in her Annan business. This is just the sort of result we envisaged when the CX Project began, to help mitigate the impact of decommissioning on the communities around Chapelcross."
